Hours After His Partner Gave Birth, He Proposed With The Help Of Their Newborn

"Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?"

When Susan Medina gave birth to her first child with partner, Darick Mead, she didn't expect the day to get any more eventful, but Mead had other plans.

Hours after the birth of their son, Ryder Michael Mead, Mead decided to propose to Medina with the help of their newborn. He dressed Ryder up in a onesie with "Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?" written across the chest.

When she read the message, she said yes.

The proposal came as a complete surprise to Medina. She told BuzzFeed, "He used to always say that we wouldn't be married for at least 40 years, just so I wouldn't know when he would pop the question, so when he did, I was super overwhelmed."

In reality, Mead had purchased an engagement ring a month before the birth and everyone at the hospital knew about the plan. The nurses even helped get baby Ryder out of the room so he could be changed into his special outfit.

Another thing that surprised Medina was the viral reaction to the birth-and-engagement in one. Since she tweeted about the event on Jan. 13, it has been liked over 11,000 times and retweeted almost 4,000 times.

Two times the excitement equals two times the reaction.
