This Couple Found The Inspiration For Their Engagement Photos From The Obamas

A sweet way to pay tribute to another couple they admire.

From underwater photo shoots, to using a photographer who specializes in making people look mini, to setting up scenes from their favorite Disney films, today's couples are finding ways to make their engagement photos totally unique. For some, it's a way to reflect their interests and personality as a couple. For others, it's a way to make the photos even more memorable.

For newly engaged couple Cassi and Adam it was both those things. Plus, a way to celebrate another couple they greatly admire.

Cassi and Adam used iconic photos of Michelle and Barack Obama as the inspiration for their engagement shoot. They enlisted the help of Cleveland-based wedding photographer Natasha Herbert and event planner Covesa Gragg to do it. Both Herbert and Gragg shared outtakes from the shoot on their Instagram accounts.

"I miss The Obama's SO much that when our Bride and Groom said, 'Can we try and duplicate one of their famous shots for our engagement pics?' I was like let's do an entire shoot - we can do this and this and THIS," Gragg wrote on Instagram

Some of their photo re-enactments include the Obama's sweet embrace before the March 2009 National Newspaper Publishers Association reception, their October 2016 cover of Essence magazine, and the photo of them embracing during the taping of the 2015 World Expo in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House.
