Chrissy Teigen's Tribute To Her Dog Will Touch Anyone Who's Ever Lost A Pet

Chrissy Teigen shared some sad news with fans on social media Wednesday — her dog of nearly 10 years, Puddy, passed away. The model and cookbook author posted several photos and videos of the beloved pup on Instagram and Twitter, sharing the story of their friendship and the sadness she feels over the loss.

"Today our baby, Puddy, has gone to the pup heavens," she wrote to accompany a slideshow of photos, explaining that the bulldog was a half-birthday present during her first year of dating now-husband John Legend. "10 years ago, on May 30th, I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel. He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies."

"He was there for everything. Every time I needed a taste tester, someone to kiss or needed to sob into his stinky rolls, he was there," Teigen continued. "It's true what they say. We are their entire lives and it is the greatest shame that they can only bless us with a short spark of time in ours."

Anyone who has ever loved and lost a pet will undoubtedly relate to Teigen's sentiment, as well as the sadness she shared over Puddy's death: "I always knew I would lose a piece of me when he left us. I feel the hole now. I will love you forever, my boy. My heart aches. Thank you so much for everything, everything."

Teigen also shared a video and photos of Puddy with her baby daughter Luna, licking her feet and lying close to her. In other posts on Twitter and Instagram, she revealed that the dog was named after David Puddy, Patrick Warburton's character on Seinfeld, and reminded fans of his marriage to fellow pup Pippa. (The two had a wedding in 2015.)

John Legend shared his own tribute to Puddy on Instagram, revealing that their "baby boy," who would have been 10 years old next week, was his first dog. "We love him so much," he wrote. And we're sure he loved them, too.
