Chelsea Clinton Is Once Again Standing Up For Barron Trump After A Website Criticized His Clothes

She continues to defend the 11-year-old.

Chelsea Clinton has made a habit of spreading kindness on social media these days, and that extends to President Donald Trump's 11-year-old son Barron. The former first daughter continues to defend the current first son from media criticism — this time about his clothes.

According to the Washington Post, conservative website The Daily Caller published a story on Monday titled "It's High Time Barron Trump Starts Dressing Like He's In the White House."

In response, Clinton tweeted a link to the story and added, "It's high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves."

In the article, writer Ford Springer criticizes Barron for the T-shirt and jeans he wore to travel from New Jersey to the White House this weekend, writing that "while the president and first lady traveled in their Sunday best, young Barron looked like he was hopping on Air Force One for a trip to the movie theater."

Clinton wasn't the only one bothered by the story. Many on social media, including users who do not support President Trump, were quick to defend Barron, calling him "off-limits." Even another famous Chelsea — comedian Chelsea Handler, who has proven herself to be strongly anti-Trump — tweeted her sympathy.

Clinton's tweet has received more than 33,000 likes since she sent it Monday evening, so it's safe to say plenty of others agree that the president's young son should be given the opportunity to live out his childhood free from scrutiny.

This is far from the first time Clinton has defended Barron Trump. In January, an SNL writer posted an offensive tweet about him, prompting the White House to release a statement emphasizing that it is "a longstanding tradition that the children of presidents are afforded the opportunity to grow up outside of the political spotlight."

Chelsea Clinton reiterated that sentiment on social media, at the same time making her stance on Trump's policies clear. "Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid," she wrote. "Standing up for every kid also means opposing POTUS policies that hurt kids."
