How Channing Tatum Is Keeping His New Year's Resolution To Play The Piano

"Got to get some legit lessons soon."

It's the end of January, and many people are undoubtedly struggling to keep up with their New Year's resolutions — if they haven't abandoned them entirely. But as Channing Tatum showed on social media this week, sticking to your goal is absolutely possible.

Tatum posted a video of himself on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, in which he shows off the progress he's made in learning to play the piano. "Keeping my New Year's resolution to 'learn new things,' " he wrote. "But teaching myself piano is brutal. Got to get some legit lessons soon."

Tatum posted the video for his followers as a way to hold himself accountable as he continues to learn.

"I'm gonna shame myself into getting better by showing you where I'm at, two and a half weeks into learning how to play the piano," he says in the video, as he tilts the camera down to show his fingers on the keys. He proceeds to play a bit of Beethoven's "Für Elise," and it sounds great.

His fans were quick to provide praise and encouragement.

If you're struggling to keep up with whatever goal you've set for yourself this year, consider taking a cue from Channing Tatum, and sharing your progress with your friends and family, either in person or online. Their support might be just the motivation you need to keep things up.
