Following The Death Of His Childhood Friend, Channing Tatum Had A Message For Fans

"Don't put off anything."

Last week, actor Channing Tatum shared a powerful message with fans on Instagram following the death of his childhood friend. He wrote that Corey Vaughn, who passed away last Tuesday, was his "very first best friend," alongside an old photo of the pair standing together in football uniforms.

"I'll never forget his crazy ass and how he stuck up for and protected me when I first moved to Mississippi," Tatum continued. (As People points out, Tatum and his family moved frequently when he was a child, to various cities in the South.) "I'll never be able to see that smile of his again in this life," he shared of his friend.

Tatum went on to write that mourning his friend's death "made me need to remind everybody don't put off anything," whether it's "seeing a friend" or "calling or texting" them.

Earlier this year, Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke shared a similar message following the death of her father, telling fans to "remember to tell the people who are important to you just how much you love them."

"You never know what's next," Tatum told fans. "Corey would have [wanted] us to laugh and raise hell in his wake and have as much joy as anyone can make. He sure did. And I'll forever miss ya man. Love ya my brother." In the caption, he sent prayers to Vaughn's "beautiful family."

Just Jared reports that Tatum's wife Jenna Dewan, from whom he separated earlier this year, commented on the post by writing, "RIP Corey. All the love in the world to his family right now."
