The Chainsmokers Crashed A High School Prom, Making It So Much More Epic

"Your prom could be next."

Students often go into their senior prom with high expectations, but teens at Huntley High School in Illinois were unprepared for what would really make it an unforgettable night. On Saturday, electronic pop duo The Chainsmokers performed as a surprise at their prom.

"Just crashed Huntley High School's prom! That was awesome! Have a good rest of prom," the artists wrote on Twitter.

The Chainsmokers came out from backstage and went straight into performing their hit song "Closer" while students worked out what was happening. They caught on quickly and were blown away by the surprise.

The duo was scheduled to headline a performance at an arena across the street from the hotel hosting the prom, but decided to drop by to play for 10 minutes after receiving an email from a student.

"About two weeks ago I got this random phone call that I happened to answer, and on the other end this person said 'This is going to be the strangest call you've ever received, but one of your students actually sent an email to the manager of the band," Huntley High School Principal Scott Rowe told the Daily Herald. The call was from a filmographer with the musicians.

"It was probably the toughest secret I've ever kept, because I knew the kids were going to go crazy for it," Rowe said.

One look at their tweets, and you'll see they definitely did.

Before The Chainsmokers left for their next show, they look an awesome photo with all of the students on the dance floor. And, they were sure to tweet some hope for every other teen out there who hopes their prom will be as unforgettable.
