Céline Dion Dedicates Concert And Donates Proceeds To Victims Of Las Vegas Mass Shooting

"I never start the show like this, but tonight is very different."

Céline Dion is showing us all how powerful "The Power of Love" truly can be. The Canadian singer returned to The Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace — where she performs for her Las Vegas residency — last night and addressed Sunday night's mass shooting that left 59 dead and more than 500 injured.

The 49-year-old addressed the audience, paying respect to those who lost their lives in the senseless tragedy that happened during Jason Aldean's set at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. This came just one day after Dion had voiced a heartfelt reaction on Twitter.

"I hope that you're doing OK … Before we start the show, I need to talk to you for a moment," Dion told the crowd, according to People. "I never start the show like this, but tonight is very different. On Sunday we lost too many beautiful, innocent souls and so many are still suffering. But tonight we're going to let these families know that we are supporting them and that we will help them through their tragic loss."

Standing on the stage with #VegasStrong on the big screen, Dion announced that she and her show's partners, AEG Presents and Caesars Entertainment, would be donating all proceeds from that night's concert to those in need in the wake of the past weekend's mass shooting.

The five-time Grammy winner added: "We dedicate tonight's show to all of the victims and their families, and to the first responders, to the doctors and nurses who are working around the clock to save lives, and to so many heroes who did whatever they could to help complete strangers in a time of desperate need."

Other than superstars like the "My Heart Will Go On" singer, the people of Las Vegas have been showing solidarity in the face of tragedy. Since Sunday night they have lined up to donate blood, proven that you don't need to wear a uniform to be a hero, and that those who do wear them are super courageous as always.
