Teacher Has A Personalized Handshake For Each Student, And It's The Best Way To Start The Morning

You may have a personalized, secret handshake with your best friend or your sibling, but you likely never shared that kind of bond with a teacher — unless you're in Barry White, Jr.'s class.

Barry White, Jr., a fifth grade teacher at Ashley Park PreK-8 School in Charlotte, North Carolina, recently made headlines when a video was released showing him greeting his students with a different handshake tailored to each one of his students.  Each personalized handshake is quite detailed, making it thoroughly impressive that he can even remember them all.

"They know when they get to the front door we do our 'good mornings,' and then it's time to go," White told ABC News. "I'm always pumped up and then we start doing the moves and that brings them excitement and pumps them up for a high-energy class."

White adds that the gesture started out with just a few kids at recess, and it has since grown to include his entire class, then kids from other classes and other grades.

“I saw how much it meant to them, so I said, ‘Come on. Everyone come on.’"

We commend White for taking extra steps to bond with his students, and we love the enthusiasm and excitement it appears to bring them every morning.
