Prepare To Be Amazed By This Talented 6-Year-Old Pianist From China

Anke Chen is a star.

Anke Chen is putting to shame everyone who gave up on piano lessons when they were a kid. The 6-year-old appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, where she showed off her amazing skills and charmed the audience.

The young talent hasn't even been practicing for three years, and she already plays like a pro. According to Classic FM, Anke was taught at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music in China. Videos of her amazing performances have gone viral, and earlier this year she appeared on the NBC show Little Big Shots.

Anke told host Steve Harvey, through her interpreter Grace, that she practices every day, and was encouraged to pursue music by her father. Just to remind you of how young she is, she explained to Ellen DeGeneres that her nickname is Yiyi, because she was born on January 1, 2011. ("Yi" is the Chinese word for "one.")

The young musician was accompanied at the piano by her stuffed green pig. She concentrated on the keys, but couldn't help but flash a few smiles while she played. It should come as no surprise that the audience gave her a standing ovation. We have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more from her in the years to come.
