Talented Siblings Move The 'America's Got Talent' Judges With A Tribute To Their Mother

Mel B was particularly touched.

On Tuesday night, America's Got Talent kicked off its latest season with a round of auditions, including a powerful performance from a family band who call themselves We Three. Joshua, Bethany, and Manny performed a touching tribute to their late mother, who passed away of cancer two years ago.

Before performing the original song, titled "Heaven's Not Too Far Away," the Oregon siblings explained that their father, who was watching from the side of the stage, was in a family band when he was younger, and they "decided to do the same thing."

According to Entertainment Tonight, the trio's mother was diagnosed with stage 4 carcinoma cancer, and her family had four months with her before she passed away. "This is an opportunity to celebrate her and the hope that we have that we're gonna get to see her again," Joshua said of the song, which was written from their mother's point of view.

The judges were moved by the performance — particularly Mel B, who lost her father to cancer. "I felt like that song was just meant for me and my dad was singing that to me," she told the band through tears before they were put through to the next round.
