These Illustrations Capture The Sweet Little Moments Shared In A Long-Term Relationship

"I do wish that viewers take with them a sense of confidence and appreciation for the simple moments in life."

At the beginning stages of a relationship, you may try to hide your insecurities from a partner or live a more filtered lifestyle. But as things develops into a long-term relationship, you'll likely feel more comfortable being your true self — and that's a beautiful thing.

To show how special that is, Artist Amanda Oleander — who has been with her boyfriend for almost three years — created a series of illustrations representing all the honest, hilarious, and simple daily moments she shares with her partner. In one of her drawings, for example, Oleander shows herself and her boyfriend, Joey Rudman, laying beside each other. And while Oleander is sleeping peacefully, Rudman is covered in her hair.

She captions the illustration: "Last night I woke up in the middle of the night saying, 'owww you're on my hair,' and then [Rudman] moves over and I pulled it to my side. In the morning he told me that when I said that he thought in his head 'well, it's taking up the whole bed.' "

"I'm enthralled by the way people behave behind closed doors, intimate moments we never get to see," Oleander tells Bored Panda. "Those are moments that can't really be documented because if they were, it would alter the way the person behaved. So I draw them."

"I do wish that viewers take with them a sense of confidence and appreciation for the simple moments in life," she adds.

Oleander's work has garnered a following of nearly 400 thousand people on Instagram, with people tagging their loved ones in the comments section and adding their positive comments.
