A Doctor Oversaw An Entire Emergency Department While Holding A Baby To His Chest

"(He) was definitely multi-tasking."

If there's any kind of person that's an expert at multi-tasking — besides busy parents — it's an emergency room doctor. A Waikato Hospital doctor in New Zealand proved it when he ran the hospital's emergency department while cradling a baby to his chest. After all, he was the only one that could get the fussy tot to settle down while his mom was having tests done.

"This is a bit different to my usual posts but felt I had to share," a hospital staff member called Mike wrote in a Facebook post showing a photo of the compassionate doctor holding the baby as he completed computer work.

"The older of the two featured in this picture is Muir – one of our [emergency department] consultants," Mike added. "The little guy was here with his mum and badly needed a snooze. Sadly his mum was unwell and needed some tests."

For about an hour, the consultant "in charge (of the entire ED) was most definitely multi-tasking."

Mike wrote, "Just an example of the small kindnesses that happen everyday that often go unnoticed."
