This LGBTQ Family Just Made Fashion History, And It Started With A Photo Of Their Everyday Life

"We wanted to portray households of today."

Kordale Lewis and Kaleb Anthony and their four children are the first black LGBT family to land a modeling gig with a high-profile European clothing line. The story that led to them making history was something quite ordinary to them without them realizing how impactful it was for the rest of the world.

The couple is in love, and raising a loving family. All of this seemed pretty ordinary to them until they shared a photo in 2014 of an everyday morning routine — preparing their daughters for school — that immediately went viral.

Not only did their adorable photo help normalize same-sex marriages, but it also portrayed two Black men as active parents and positive role models — something we often don't see in mainstream media.

Now, Acne Studios has recruited the beautiful family for their Fall/Winter 2017 Campaign and the brand's creative director explained in a press release how they "wanted to portray households of today, in all constellations – this is how we found Kordale and Kaleb."

"This is our family featured in the Fall/Winter 2017 Campaign for @acnestudios shot by @inezandvinoodh," the Atlanta-based couple proudly shared on Instagram, which has been liked nearly 6,700 times. "We're the first Black LGBT family to represent a high fashion European clothing line."

It's not their first time appearing in a campaign. Kordale and Kaleb's family also appeared in an ad for Nikon in 2015 called "I Am Generation Image." That was before they welcomed their youngest son Kaleb Jr. to the family.

Social media exploded with positive feedback with one user commenting on Instagram, "I live for this. Can't wait for my girl and I to have a family."

Another wrote, "I love your family so much! I wish I knew you guys! Everything you guys do is so real and authentic. #onelove"
