Video Showcases 80 Years Of New York, Then And Now, And We're Amazed At The Transformation

A trip down memory lane.

For those who've been to, or live in, New York City, you know that this place is forever changing — yet there's always something familiar around the corner.

But over the course of the last 80 years, the city has certainly changed, from its buildings and parks to its forms of transportation, artwork, and beyond. Recently, The New Yorker put together a video that presents a split-screen of New York City, one showing the city in the '30s and another showing life today.

The video focuses on various locations, like the Brooklyn Bridge, the Upper West Side, the Museum of Natural History, and Central Park. You may notice the different cars, fashions, storefronts, and more, that help to define these areas at their respective times, and all together, it's completely fascinating.

That said, be sure to check out the video in full below, and get ready for a trip down memory lane.
