What's A-Parent

11 Comics That Show Just How Difficult And Crazy Motherhood Can Be

A reminder to start appreciating all our moms do for us.

What's A-Parent is a series highlighting those who get real about the hardships that come with raising kids. These often untold stories help show parents they are not alone in their struggle, and are doing an amazing job.

It's safe to say, motherhood is a tough job  — and too often, mothers don't get enough credit for all the hard work they put into raising their kids.

In a series of honest illustrations on Instagram, artist Nathalie Jomard articulates just how difficult motherhood can be. Her illustrations include everything from a mother's need for some privacy, the struggles of sending kids off to school, and the feelings associated with breastfeeding.

And while her illustrations are in French, we think her attention to detail and the depiction of her characters' expressions make the series relatable for moms of any background.

Take a look at some of our favorites below with the translated captions. And hey, while you're at it — maybe offer mom a compliment today to remind her just how much you appreciate all she does.
