What's A-Parent is a series highlighting those who get real about the hardships that come with raising kids. These often untold stories help show parents they are not alone in their struggle, and are doing an amazing job.
Thirty-two-year-old blogger Constance Hall is known for being outspoken on Facebook. From advocating for body positive parenting, to fighting against Instagram's choice to delete her "mom bod" photo, to shutting down those who judge others' parenting styles, the mommy blogger has had several posts that have gone viral. One recent post deserves just as much recognition.
On Sunday, she shared a refreshingly honest and humorous Facebook post that shows just how confusing and contradictory motherhood can be. You know, like the fact that you seem to always feel busy and bored at the time. Or feeling like you need some space from your kids, yet you never really want to leave them.
"You work 24 hours a day and get asked why you don't work," she wrote. "Your toddler actually ate dog shit yesterday yet won't even try a meal that you slaved away to make him."
"You haven't enjoyed a meal in years but your [sic] gaining wait [sic] from eating scraps," she continued. "Everyone is uploading photos of themselves and their new families frolicking and holding hands in fields while you're locking bathroom door drinking beer in the shower, loathing the reflection of your dread locking pubes in the foggy mirror."
By the end though, she confesses the most contradictory part of it all. "It's so confusing because you wouldn't change a single thing."
Her honest perspective on motherhood is earning her tons of props from parents all over the Internet. Since it was posted earlier this week, Hall's words have been shared over 15,000 times. The comments are filled with parents sharing their own contradictory experiences and thanking Hall for sharing her point of view.
