We Hope You're 'Ready' For More Music From Taylor Swift Because She Just Dropped A New Song

Listen to "Ready For It."

Taylor Swift is making her presence in the music world known again — and in record-breaking fashion — with the release of her new single, "Look What You Made Me Do."

But the country-turned-pop singer additionally excited fans yesterday when she teased part of another song on TV during a college football game between Alabama and Florida State. That song was "Ready For It," and she released the full audio of the tune this morning.

A report from Variety — which sources the listing for Swift's next album Reputation on iTunes — shows that "Ready For It" will be the first song on the set's track list. That seems fitting, given "Ready For It's" darker tones and messages seem to complement those found in "Look What You Made Me Do," albeit with a pop-friendlier, distorted, bass-filled melody, and sing-songy hooks.

"In the middle of the night / In my dreams / You should see the things we do, baby / In the middle of the night / In my dreams / I know I'm gonna be with you / So I take me time / Are you ready for it?" she sings while making nods to past relationships ("Stealin' hearts and runnin' off and never sayings sorry"). It seems like this tune is a bit flirtatious when compared to the vengeance-laden "Look What You Made Me Do," but it's clear that the old Taylor Swift is "dead," per a line from that tune, because two songs deep into her next compilation and we're sensing shadowy tones and moodier missives — and we can't wait to see what else she has in store come November.
