Taylor Swift Performed A New Song From Album 'Reputation' For Fans In Her Living Room

It's called "New Year's Day."

It's finally here — Taylor Swift's new album Reputation is available now. To get us ready for the new release, Swift debuted a special performance during Thursday night's episode of Scandal on ABC. The singer performed the song "New Year's Eve" (the final track on the album) for a group of lucky fans in her very own living room in Rhode Island.

The performance was filmed in October, and took place during one of Swift's secret listening sessions, during which she allowed a select group of fans to hear the new album ahead of its release. With Swifties seated around her in a candlelit room, Swift plays the song on the piano.

As much as we like the edgier side of herself she's been showing off on songs like "...Ready For It?" and "Look What You Made Me Do," we have to say this song (and its intimate performance) feels like classic Swift — the "old Taylor," as she would say. In that way, it's much closer to fellow Reputation tracks "Gorgeous" and "Call It What You Want."

"Don't read the last page / But I stay when you're lost and I'm scared and you're turning away," Swift sings in the chorus of the track, which we predict we'll be playing into 2018. "I want your midnights / But I'll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year's Day."
