John Legend Surprises Fans By Performing On The Public Piano At A London Train Station

What a way to start the day.

Commuters at London's St. Pancras International train station were treated to a musical surprise Wednesday morning when John Legend hopped off a Eurostar train from Paris and took to the public piano to play a 15-minute set of his hits.

The singer teased the performance on Twitter shortly before arriving at the station. Unsurprisingly, by the time he got to the piano and started playing, a crowd had already gathered around it.

Legend will be taking his Darkness and Light Tour to the U.K. later this year, and according to Live Nation, who streamed the performance on Facebook Live, tickets go on sale this Friday at 9 a.m.

We doubt the singer would have much of a problem filling the arenas, but this morning's performance was definitely a winning form of self-promotion. After all, who wouldn't want to check out a full concert after catching such an impressive preview?

Legend performed his songs "Ordinary People," "All of Me," and his newest single "Surefire." Fans who were lucky enough to catch the star's brief appearance made sure to share pictures and video on social media.

The piano Legend played was donated to the station just last year by another "legend" on the keys. Elton John treated travelers to a performance of his own last February, and he left the instrument behind as a gift, complete with a signed message.
