A 'Shrek' Classic Gets A Moving Makeover Thanks To This Talented Irish Duo

They'll make you a believer.

When it comes to covering famous songs, Irish singers Glenn Murphy and Ronan Scolard are masters. Their fabulous Adele medley caught the attention of the singer herself, who invited them to perform on stage during one of her concerts last year. More recently, the pair gave the medley treatment to Ed Sheeran's latest album, Divide.

Glenn & Ronan are busy putting together their debut album, but in the meantime, they offered fans a "casual cover" of the classic song "I'm a Believer," recorded at Long Island University. While the song was originally performed by the Monkees in 1966, a whole new generation got to know it through Smash Mouth's version on the Shrek soundtrack in 2001.

The duo made sure to sneak a little reference to the movie into their description on Facebook, writing, "And in the morning, we're makin' WAFFLES!"

While previous versions of the song were more upbeat, this new cover slows things down. Accompanied by acoustic guitar and featuring gorgeous vocals from both singers, the song transforms into an emotional ballad. And thanks to a new second-person rewrite of the chorus, the song's romantic message becomes much more intimate.
