In a performance at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, Ed Sheeran, Anne-Marie, and Beoga perform a cover of "Fairytale of New York" (a song originally performed by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl) that's sure to put listeners in the holiday spirit.

Anne-Marie, who toured with Sheeran in Europe, tells NME that she and Sheeran have been friends for nearly 10 years. And regarding Sheeran's tour performances, she says:

"Every person I speak to is gobsmacked that it's just one person and a guitar. It's just him captivating the whole stadium, it's just incredible to see. The thing is, he's got great stage presence and he has great lyrics and that's what people are connected to, so yeah I mean he doesn't need anything."

For the "Fairytale of New York" performance, the two are joined by traditional Irish musicians as well as Sheeran on his guitar — and we're all for it.

"I didn't know an Ed Sheeran Christmas album was what I needed, but it is indeed what I need..." one person writes on YouTube.
