Camila Cabello's hit song "Havana" has been at the top of the pop chart for seven weeks straight now, with Billboard reporting that it's the longest reign for a solo lead female in nearly five years, since Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." With the former Fifth Harmony star's debut solo album dropping this Friday, she took the Tonight Show stage for a visually captivating new performance.

Cabello sang her new song "Never Be the Same," and that's exactly how we would describe our feelings after watching her. She performed the song surrounded by three walls — two of them mirrored, with the background screening a series of images, from black-and-white clips of old Hollywood, to time-lapse footage moving through a city street, to shots of rocket launches and galaxies.

Cabello commanded the stage for the entire performance, prompting the audience to burst into applause at various points during the song. As she belted out the track's final notes, a shot of flames burned on the screen behind her — a pretty perfect representation of her performance.

"How does a performance look so simple yet so intense at the same time????" asked a commenter on YouTube.

It's not the first time Cabello has delivered a unique performance on the show. Last September, she showed off "Havana" with a bright yellow backdrop, red-clad backup dancers, and a trumpet player.
