Young Woman Surprises Man Who Raised Her By Asking Him To Officially Adopt Her

A lot of happy tears were shed.

Although Misty Knight, from Illinois, isn't related to a man named Ryan Farrell by blood, she still wanted to do something extra special for him.

After all, according to Knight, Farrell raised her since she was very little, sporting "tight Princess Leia buns," all the way to present-day when they attended a rock concert together.

You're going to need a box of tissues to get through this video.

In the emotional video Knight gives Farrell a present with a note attached to it. Before Farrell even looks at it, he asks if the present is going to make him cry. Someone in the background assures him it won't, but little does he know that he is in for the shock of a lifetime.

After reading through the note, which Knight ended with "I'm so grateful to be able to call you dad," Farrell opens the gift to reveal a Batman vs. Superman onesie, a few boxes of candy, and a small pile of papers.

"Are you serious?"

The pile of papers hidden underneath the onesie and candy was Knight's way of asking the man she called dad for so many years to officially adopt her.

His response? "God, I've been wanting to do that forever."

The two shared an emotional hug while everyone in the background clapped for the father-daughter relationship that will undoubtedly grow even stronger.

And finally, after all these years, Knight writes that she "can't wait to be a FARRELL."
