Husband Collaborates With His Wife To Create Illustrations That Show What Married Life Can Be Like

“We don’t illustrate moments that didn’t happen to us because otherwise it would harm the authenticity of the story."

The only thing better than being passionate about something is sharing it with someone you love. Such is the case for married couple Yehuda and Maya Devir who are both Tel Avis-based illustrators and graphic designers. The pair has been together for eight years, so they've been through a lot. Yehuda uses their married life experiences as the inspiration for his illustration series One of Those Days. The series is filled with comics that showcase what the couple's daily life is like.

While Yehuda executes the final illustrations, he collaborates with Maya throughout. She helps him come up the concept for a new illustration and build the composition of the moment he's planning to depict. She also assists him in choosing colors for the piece. Then, he puts all their ideas together in the final product. Sometimes the moments are exaggerated, but each one is based on a real-life experience the couple has had together.

"We don't illustrate moments that didn't happen to us because otherwise, it would harm the authenticity of the story," Yehuda told HuffPost

Yehuda started sharing his comic book-style illustrations of the couple's experience on Instagram back in 2015, but has since continued the series. They've helped to earn him more than 800,000 followers. Even though the illustrations are based on the Devirs own experiences as a married couple, many other people find the illustrations extremely relatable and humorous.

While every couple has their ups and downs, it's clear from this project the Devirs work on together that they approach their relationship with love, humor, and compassion. And now, some of their small, seemingly unimportant moments together have been beautifully captured in illustrations that are being enjoyed by people all over the world.
