13 Women Share What Happened When They Made The First Move

"I recently asked out a guy for the first time and he said no, but I feel good about it."

Making the first move when you're interested in someone can be scary. You want the person to return your affections, but the looming fear of rejection is very, very real. Traditional dating "rules" put pressure on men to make the first move, but this is 2016, and we'll do what we want.

While putting yourself out there can be nerve-wracking, it's better to be brave, go for it, and see what happens. If you get shut down, there will always be other perspective partners. But if you're invitation is accepted, an exciting new opportunity with someone may be on the horizon. Seems worth the risk.

Need some more convincing? Several women took to the Whisper app, an online confessions platform, to share their own experiences with making the first move. While some of them were rejected, most of these women felt proud of themselves for giving it a shot.
