Some people smile when a cute stranger passes by, while others try to track them down.
Call it "love at first sight" or creepiness, but whatever the case, a New Zealand woman made a sign last week to find the man she was drawn to after seeing him and his dog walk along the Picton beach. She not only invited the unknown person to a "drink/coffee/walk?" (see below) but also included an illustration of the star-tattooed being, just in case he needed clarification of who he was.
What the sign said in full:
Is this you? I was sitting on the grass on Friday watching the sea … you were playing with your dog. You ran past me and smiled. Would you like to go for a drink/coffee/walk??? I'm in Wellington just now, my ferry arrives back in Picton on Tuesday 3rd. I'm in town for 1 night only … But let's see how things go … On the off-chance you are single, remember who I am and would like to meet for a drink/coffee/walk. I'll be sitting on the grass, watching the sea from 1-1.30pm onwards on Tuesday … Maybe you'll run past again?!?
Because we live in a world full of haters, her first sign was taken down, so she made another.
"In the sprit of happy endings, give this sign a chance to be seen by the right eyes," she wrote.
And it was.
Chalmers agreed to meet his mystery woman that Tuesday, and when he did she was watching the sea like she said she would be.
According to Will's Facebook page, the two went out later that night. And it went swimmingly.
Here's to finding love in expected places!
