Iowa Woman Makes Officer Cry With Her Act Of Kindness After Shooting

The people of Iowa are mourning, but they're mourning together.

After two Des Moines police officers were ambushed and killed in Iowa early Wednesday morning, it was tough to imagine anything positive coming out of it.

But then video surfaced of a local woman giving a hug to an Iowa police officer, and it's left the internet in tears. In the video, the woman approaches the officer and hands him a case of water, before breaking down.

"I can't even imagine," she says as her voice cracks. "This is the only thing I know... how to help... is to feed."

As the officer and the woman embrace, both in tears, she explains why she came over.

"I want you guys to be hydrated and not be hungry," she said. "And I want you go to home to your families because I want my dad to come home to me."

The touching video has been making the rounds on social media in the last 24 hours, and it has some company. In Urbandale, a town next to Des Moines, residents have been hanging blue lights on their porches as a sign of respect to the officers.

In another video posted to Twitter, a mother and daughter are seen giving food to Urbandale and Des Moines police officers.
