You Can Now Soak In A Hot Tub Of Wine In Japan

Because why not?

A lot of things happened this year. A lot a lot of things. But to veer your attention away from some of the heavier stuff, we'd like to be the first to tell you that 2016 also marked the release of Beaujolais Nouveau in Hakone, Japan — a hot spring mixed with red wine. Yes. Wine. The hot tub is filled with Gamay grapes from France's eastern region of Beaujolais.

Japanese people celebrated with cheers-ing, drinking, and soaking in the red wine, even having a sommelier pour it on them, upon request.

"It's weird," said one wine-covered patron. "But somehow it also makes me feel rich."

According to the video above, even kids can go in the hot tub, so long as they only drink grape juice.
