Wheaties Is Making Its Own Beer And It's Everything You Hope It Could Be

The real breakfast of champions.

Wheaties are great. Beer is great. Naturally, if you put the two together, you should get double great. For years, people have joked about having a beer in the morning being a "breakfast of champions," also the iconic Wheaties slogan. Obviously the powers that be picked up on it — General Mills, which is headquartered in Minneapolis, has teamed up with Fulton Beer, a local brewery, to produce HefeWheaties.

Unsurprisingly, the beer is a hefeweizen, the German style that uses wheat in its base, but it unfortunately will only be available in the Minneapolis region as of now. However, Ryan Petz, Fulton's president and co-founder, did say, "If it's something everybody loves, we'll obviously consider doing it again in a bigger and more widely distributed way in the future."

Cross your fingers, combination Wheaties-and-beer-lovers everywhere — soon enough you might be able to enjoy the novelty of eating Wheaties with Wheaties beer as milk.
