You'll Never Guess What Was Hidden Behind This Child's Dresser

So incredibly jealous right now.

Here's the story of what lay hidden for so long:

After purchasing the new home a few years ago, a woman's son was not yet 2 years old. There was a small triangular room formed by the roof pitch, accessible by a door just 2 ft by 4 ft.

Deciding that it would make a cool play area for her son one day, she decided to keep it hidden behind a dresser until he was older.

The room had a linoleum floor, a light, some wood paneling, and open insulation.

Before his 4th birthday, his parents decided it would make a perfect birthday gift, and had their contractor come to spruce the place up while their son was at school each day. The contractor worked for weeks and weeks, and finally created a space fit for a king!

The boy's mother set to decorating the place, bringing in furniture from around the house and Ikea, which would create a perfect playground for her son.

She added a world map on the wall and brought in dress-up clothes, a rug, and storage boxes.

The mom, Sarah, explained the story on her blog"Things I Make" and included the dialogue between her and her son right before she revealed the secret room:

His last clue was to push on the dresser to slide it over. He needed a bit of help since it was "really, really hard." Then he could see the door. "What do you see?" I asked. "That door there," he declared.

Me: "What do you think we should do?"

The Boy: "I think we should peek inside it."

Me: "What do you think is in there?"

The Boy: "Some treasure is in there." He walked in wide eyed and asked, "where is my birthday present?"

Me: "You are in your birthday present."

The Boy: "What is it?"

Me: "It is a whole room."

"A treasure room!" As he took it in he got very excited and declared that he would show it to everyone.

I gave him the tour of the room. "Oh, this is pretty cool, mother."

Then it really sank in. "A secret treasure room! I like this room so much," he jumped up and down. "Thank you father and mother."
