Though watermelon may be one of the summer's sweetest treats, it's also serving as some major hair inspiration for those looking to mix up their summer style.
"There are various ways to do watermelon hair via ombre, chunks, and different shades," Hello Giggles' Sammy Nickalls writes. "But it all boils down to the same thing: bright green and pink hair."
In photos all over Instagram, women are putting their own twists on the trend, from separating the colors at the middle part, to rocking the deep pink color at the roots.
And while dying your hair like a watermelon is totally fun, remembering to eat watermelon is great for your hair's health, too.
NiceHair.org named watermelon one of "The 15 Best Foods For Healthy Hair Growth," explaining that:
"Watermelon is rich in the amino acid citrulline, which is converted into arginine by the body. This is a precursor for nitric oxide... [which] help[s] in blood vessel dilation. In order for hair to grow, the blood vessel in the scalp need to be health and the blood needs to flow freely to the hair, delivering amino acids needed to build new hair keratin."
