This Baby Otter Is Just Learning To Swim, And We Can Barely Handle It

That's one squeaky pup.

Meet pup 681, the newest addition to the Shedd aquarium in Chicago.

The orphaned 5-week-old southern sea otter was found on the California coast when she was just about a week old.

Now that the pup has made it to Shedd, she gets round-the-clock care, and even some assistance learning to swim.

Watch what happens when caretakers ease her into a small pool. The little otter immediately has the floating thing down pat.

"It truly takes a village to rehabilitate a young sea otter," says Tim Binder, the aquarium's vice president of animal collections. "Our animal care team is teaching the pup how to be an otter."
