We Asked 'The Voice' Judges About Life And Overcoming Obstacles — Here's What They Said

Live from the red carpet.

On a hot Los Angeles day, reporters set up their cameras along a long red carpet set with a tall backdrop and a chair that read "I WANT YOU" across its front.

One by one, the judges of NBC's The Voice, Pharrell, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Christina Aguilera made their way down the red carpet, stopping to speak with the media regarding the day's happenings: a karaoke charity event in which reporters turned into temporary contestants, one song at a time.

But before Aguilera helped sing a throwback tune with a reporter and before Levine joined another participant onstage for "This Love," A Plus caught up with the judges on the red carpet to talk about what they've learned from the show, what obstacles they've overcome, and how music is an incredibly motivating art form.

Through their responses, we learned that it's important to surround yourself with people who help guide you to make the right choices and, according to Pharrell, patience is a virtue we must all embrace.

"Because if you rush to judge, you may make a rash decision when something amazing could be in your path," Pharrell explained.
