Heartbreaking Video Shows What Happens When Boys Are Told They Can't Cry
We all need to stop doing this.
Boys don't cry... We hear this trope in the movies, on the radio, it occassionally slips out of every parent's mouth when they have to deal with boys who are distressed.
But what happens when these boys grow up?
Condé Nast's Managing Director Alex Kuruvilla and director Vinil Mathew have produced a short film for #VogueEmpower called "Start With The Boys."
The film, inspired by Susan Sarandon's statement at the Goa Film Festival, exposes how ruthlessly gender stereotyping affects our kids' behavior.
"The idea of the film is centred around the fundamental truth that women's empowerment is not about women alone, which is why I pledged to create a short film that communicates clearly the need to change the mindset of boys before they become men," Kuruvilla told Vogue India.
