This Slow-Motion Laser Hair Removal Is Fascinating And Terrifying

"It looks like a shoot-out in the O.K. Corral"

There are many ways to get rid of unwanted body hair: tweezing, shaving, waxing, and blasting it with a frickin' laser beam until it shrivels up and dies.

When getting laser hair removal, the process happens in the blink of an eye. It's there one moment and gone the next, making it hard to appreciate what's actually happening.

In the latest video from Veritasium, host Derek Muller undergoes laser hair removal, filming the entire thing with a super-slow-motion camera. It is only then that we can see how the individual pulses from the laser affect the hair, progressively shriveling it away into oblivion.

It's pretty incredible to see, but also slightly terrifying. As Derek put it, "It looks like a shoot-out in the O.K. Corral [...] all of the hairs are just getting slaughtered."
