If you could ask anyone for life advice, who would it be?
Given the opportunity, chances are a super successful actor, producer, CEO, news anchor, tech mogul, or business person would be on your list.
In October, Vanity Fair hosted the 2015 New Establishment Summit, an event that gathered successful "titans of technology, politics, business, and media" together to have "inspiring conversations around the ideas and innovations shaping the future," according to the magazine's website.
Event speakers included Maria Shriver, Lena Dunham, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Elizabeth Holmes, Rashida Jones, Lee Daniels, Katic Couric, and Andrew Ross Sorkin, among many others.
And luckily for us, many of these speakers shared the best advice they've ever gotten (as well as their own words of wisdom) in a video uploaded to Vanity Fair's YouTube channel.
Check out their words of wisdom below:
"The best advice I ever received was to be persistent." — George Lucas, Lucasfilm founder
"To be interesting, you have to be interested." — Katie Couric, Yahoo News anchor
"Stay weird." — Kara Swisher, Re/Code executive editor
"When you have a friend, don't ever take them for granted, no matter how long it is. Always treat it like it's the first day." — Brian Grazer, Imagine Entertainment co-founder
"Fight. Fight for what you believe in. Go down with a battle." — Lee Daniels, film director
"Find what is non-negotiable to you." — Elizabeth Holmes, Theranos founder and CEO
"Keep being a student." — Rashida Jones, producer and actress
