Tom Hanks and Bill Murray are two of Hollywood's most beloved personalities. From Hanks' pep talks as "America's Dad" to Murray's infectious enthusiasm over the Chicago Cubs, they've both cemented their positions as national treasures. So it was fitting that a recent internet debate involved trying to figure out which one of them was depicted in a photograph with a very unhappy baby.
The answer turned out to be Bill Murray, according to the baby's mother, who submitted the photo a few years ago to the page Reasons My Son Is Crying. Still, the resemblance is uncanny.
Hanks addressed the photo on a recent episode of Britain's The Graham Norton Show. "I've been doing a pale imitation of Bill Murray for most of my career," he joked, and added that he was fairly certain the picture wasn't of him.
Just to be sure, host Graham Norton suggested Hanks recreate the photo with his fellow guests Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gemma Arterton. Norton provided the costume, and Gordon-Levitt provided the crying baby face. It's meant to clear things up, but it might just end up having the opposite effect. Are you as confused as we are?
