A Safari Guide Witnessed A Giraffe Giving Birth And Took Pictures Along The Way

Try to look at these without smiling.

Talk about being in the right place at the right time, safai operator Andreas Knausenberger recently witnessed something incredible.

While leading a tour of Masai Mara, Kenya, Knausenberger randomly stumbled upon a giraffe giving birth and quickly snapped these heart-wearming pictures.

"When we approached the giraffes we noticed something dark hanging out of one of their backs and we immediately realized she was in labour," Knausenberger told Caters News Agency. The group watched from afar, and after roughly 30 minutes the calf emerged.

Immediately, the mother began to clean him and be tried to stand up.

"After another half an hour – and several failed attempts – the baby finally managed to get up on its long feet and started looking for milk," he said. "It was so special – I've never seen anything like this before."
