Here's The Powerful Reaction When You Open A Letter You Wrote To Yourself 20 Years Ago

Hello me. It's me. We've come a long way.

Nobody writes letters anymore, which is a shame. Sure, we bang out emails and send texts but neither requires the time and effort that it takes to write a letter.

Still dubious about the power of letter writing? Check out this video on Bruce Farrer, a recently retired teacher in Saskatchewan.

For years, Farrer had his ninth-grade English students write letters to their future selves. Then, 20 years later, he'd deliver the letters. The effect on his former students of reading those letters is surprisingly powerful.

As Farrer says in the video: "We are reminded of the hopes that we did have when we were younger."
