Sassy Teen Comes Out To His Parents With This Brilliant Quote In His Yearbook

So much sass.

Maxwell Barrett, a handsome 18-year-old lives in Hazlet, New Jersey where he's a senior at Raritan High School.

Just last week he tweeted a photo of his yearbook photo, which quickly took over the Internet. Sure he has the looks, but it's his sassy attitude that stole our hearts.

"Of course I dress well, I didn't spend all that time in the closet for nothing," the quote under the Barrett's yearbook photo reads.

If this isn't the most sassy way to come out, we don't know what is. As Barrett later explained to Huffington Post, he rephrased a quote he originally came across on Tumblr.

Way to go, mister!

"I wanted to go out with a bang," Barrett told Huffington Post. "I had never done sports, or clubs. I was always just an art student. I wanted to go out in a way people would remember me by!"

"This quote to me was a way that I could tell my parents 'Hey, I'm gay!' in the easiest way possible," he explained to BuzzFeed in another interview.

And his parents' reaction was nothing but supportive. In the words of Barrett himself, "just be you," guys.
