Watch All The Ways Netflix's 'Stranger Things' References Classic '80s Films

Did you catch these?

Netflix's new original series Stranger Things has quickly become mega popular and received largely favorable reviews since its release last month. The show pays tribute to classic '80s horror and sci-fi flicks, and has the perfect soundtrack to match. If you've ever seen the kids movie E.T., you probably picked up on some of the similarities between the film's alien and Stranger Things' Eleven. But how many other film references did you pick up on?

In a video from Vimeo user Ulysse Thevenon, we can see side-by-side comparisons of some of the show's scenes to the movies it's paying homage to.

For instance, did you notice the close resemblance of Barbara in "Stranger Things" to Martha Plimpton in "The Goonies"?

How about the similarities between Eleven and Charlie, the young girl in Stephen King's 1984 film "Firestarter"?

Or, did you realize that scenes in the Upside Down mirror many of the ones in "Alien"?
