This Is What Wedding Traditions Look Like Around The World

These aren't your typical weddings.

Forget throwing rice to lifting the bride and groom up on chairs. In countries around the world, weddings involve traditions that may seem a lot more unique than ours here in the U.S. For instance, if you get married in South Korea, expect to see the groom give his mother-in-law wooden ducks. In Sweden, wedding guests actually try to steal kisses from the newlyweds. And if you're a groom in India, hold your shoes tight — people will try to steal them.

Those are just a few of the many wedding traditions found in cultures around the world. If culturally nuptials are something you've always been interested in, the graphic below made by airline database Cheapflights explains what they are and they they exist.

Maybe something to try at the next wedding you attend — or yours?
