Unsettling Photos From The 1920s Warn Kids To Watch Out. Because Monsters Are Real.

Sweet dreams.

These old stereoview cards from the 1900s have a message for kids: "The Goblins Will Get You If You Don't Watch Out."

According to ViralNova, stereoview cards were meant as a form of entertainment, but could also be used to teach kids a lesson. In this case, the series title "The Goblins Will Get You If You Don't Watch Out" kinda gives the lesson away.

So, you should probably watch out, otherwise you may find yourself in this terrifying scenario:

First, you go to bed, and say your prayers.

Then sleep like there's no one watching.

Keep sleeping. There are no goblins in your room. Not one.

Seriously, don't worry about it. Sweet dreams.

Don't open your eyes. Because if you do...

...Things will start to get kinda weird.

Like, OK, what?

That's not the kid from "Where the Wild Things Are."

And that's not a "Star Wars" character.

In case you were wondering, here's what sheer terror looks like:

Sorry, kid. This is just what happens when you "don't watch out."

Nothing to see here. Nothing at all.
