13 Of The Best Parenting Observations This Stay-At-Home Dad Leaves For His Wife To Find

"Every shopping mall should have an indoor playground for kids and a free open bar for parents."

After Chris Illuminati's first child was born, he decided to quit his job to dedicate his time to being a stay-at-home dad.

The first time Illuminati's wife left him alone with their newborn son, she repeatedly reminded him of all the things he should take care of while she was gone.

"'I better write this down,' I joked, and grabbed some post-it notes and a black Sharpie," Illuminati explained in a blog post. "As a joke (because I've never taken anything in life seriously), I wrote down even the simplest of tasks and pinned it to my bulletin board. I forgot all about the note. I also forgot to change the baby."

The experience inspired him to start leaving sticky notes with his observations about parenthood around the house for his wife to find. He shared these relatable notes on a blog he started titled Message With a BottleHis messages of what to do — and what not to do — while parenting serve as funny musings other people can relate to.

"The notes immediately struck a nerve with readers. I received emails, Facebook messages, Tumblr comments and tweets from men and women, parents of young children, [and] grown children," Illuminati wrote.

When you deal with the craziness that is raising another human, seeing another parent have a sense humor about the absurdity of it all can give you the laugh you need to keep trying your best.
