This season of America's Got Talent is one for the teens. Wednesday night marked the second installment of judge cuts, as the remaining contestants vied for a spot in the live shows. One hopeful in particular stood out from the rest.
Like Ne-Yo the previous night, guest judge Reba McEntire chose to go against the grain and give a non-singing act the Golden Buzzer. The honor went to 14-year-old self-taught contortionist Sofie Dossi, who wowed everyone with her daring performance.
She began with a few gravity-defying moves that would be right at home in Cirque du Soleil. The audience was captivated. As judge Mel B reminded everyone, "There's no net, no nothing."
Sofie then moved on to a balancing act that you have to see to believe. And even when you see it, you still might not believe it.
But the highlight of the performance was undoubtedly the archery section. Sofie doesn't shoot the arrow with her arms. How boring would that be? Instead, she does it with her feet.
Oh, and did we mention that the arrow also happens to be on fire?
"You are going places, young lady," Howie Mandel told her. "You can go wherever you want. I'd imagine you can fold yourself up, put yourself in an envelope, and mail yourself wherever you want to go."
Reba, meanwhile, let the buzzer do the talking.
