A Petition To Have Deadpool Host 'SNL' Is Actually Gaining Steam

Yes, the character.

The Ryan Reynolds comeback machine has kicked into high gear after his record-breaking "subversive" superhero film Deadpool vastly exceeded expectations over President's Day weekend. Audiences love his character's filthy brand of humor so much, in fact, that they've put together a Change.org petition to have him host SNL. To be clear, this is for Reynolds to host the show in character as Deadpool, not as himself. So it's a compliment and a slight insult all wrapped into one.

Shockingly, the petition has already received more than 45,000 signatures. It reads: "How would this not be hilarious having Deadpool in sketches, breaking the 4th wall, and inserting some of his brand of humor (obviously toned down a bit for network television)!?!?"

SNL head Lorne Michaels is unlikely to go for the idea, but if you're a big Deadpool fan, you might as well throw your name onto the list. You never know — sometimes they have to give the people what they want.
