Shawn Mendes Celebrates The Start Of Fall By Updating A Few Popular Songs

"And I would rake 500 piles / And I would rake 500 more."

Thursday marked the first official day of fall, so Jimmy Fallon asked Tonight Show viewers to send him a few seasonal updates on popular songs using the hashtag #FallSongs. After all, if Christmas can have enough music to fill entire radio stations, who's to say pumpkin spice season shouldn't have its own festive tunes?

To help him perform some of his favorite submissions, Jimmy called upon musical guest Shawn Mendes. The 18-year-old singer brought the clever lyrics to life with a little help from The Roots.

First up was a cozy take on Shawn's very own song, "Stitches."

Of course, no musical segment would be complete without at least one Adele song.

And get ready to dance along to this transitional take on Justin Timberlake's summer anthem "Can't Stop the Feeling."

Thursday was a pretty big day for Shawn considering his new album Illuminate dropped at midnight. He spent the summer on tour, during which he launched his third Notes From Shawn campaign with DoSomething.org. The initiative encourages fans to leave positive messages for others.

We can't wait to see what the new season holds in store for him.
