Shaquille O’Neal Comes In With A Heartwarming Assist During NBA All-Star Game Fundraiser

Through three-point shots, $500,000 was pledged to cancer research.

Basketball legends of the past and present teamed up to honor the late sportscaster Craig Sager during the NBA's All-Star Weekend on Saturday in New Orleans. After Eric Gordon claimed victory in the Three-Point Contest, TNT broadcaster Ernie Johnson announced that in honor of Sager, for the next minute, every three-point shot made would equal a $10,000 donation to the SagerStrong Foundation

Players and celebrities Reggie Miller, James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Candace Parker, Stephen Curry, DJ Khaled, Michael B. Jordan, and Anthony Anderson racked up a $130,000 donation to Sager Strong in just 60 seconds before Shaquille O'Neal brought out Sager's son, Ryan, and with a heartwarming assist only Shaq could pull off, lifted Ryan to the basket to sink one final shot.

For nearly two decades, Craig Sager was the voice of the NBA on TNT and TBS. Last December, the iconic sportscaster, known for his colorful suits, passed away from leukemia. His foundation, SagerStrong, helps fund cancer research and educational programs.

With Ryan's dunk, a $500,000 donation was pledged to Sager Strong.
