Have you ever experienced some form of sexual harassment?
If you answered yes, you're not alone.
After surveying 2,235 full- and part-time working women, Cosmopolitan.com found lots of surprising, and unsettling, information when it comes to how many women experience sexual harassment. Like the fact that one in three women of different backgrounds and education levels have experienced unwanted sexual contact or advances in their place of work.
The United Nations defines sexual harassment as "unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature," especially when the behavior interferes with a person's work or is presented as a condition or form of bribery and manipulation.
While that may sound bad, 16 percent of the women surveyed didn't even realize they were harassed. The problem is still incredibly rampant — and the infographic below proves that.
If you think you're being sexually harassed, speak up. The problem won't be solved until infographics like the one above don't need to exist.
One out of three women is one too many.
